Personal Statement

Starting therapy can be a scary and uncomfortable step. I approach all my clients where they are at. I feel that building a meaningful relationship with my clients is the most important part of therapy. It takes courage and strength to reach out, and I am here to support and advise you when you do.  I strive to help you to feel understood, create a safe environment for you to be yourself, and to help you move forward in your recovery process.

My career journey took many directions before I became a therapist, and I use all my life’s experiences to offer competent direction and skills to my clients. You are the expert in your own personal life experiences, but I can help you manage your life experiences by tempering them with my own knowledge and experience. I look forward to working with you in the future.

Practice Philosophy & Treatment Approach

My approach to counseling involves establishing a trusting alliance with my clients, through building relationships, assessment, and treating through a systemic lens. I believe that collaboration with other professionals is important, and that therapy works best when supportive services are included in mental health treatment. My approach is strength based, supportive, and a willingness to build long-lasting relationships with my clients.

Treatment Focus & Specialty

I am passionate about helping people find the best in themselves. I do that by focusing on the individual. I have experience in working with those with depression, anxiety, addiction, bipolar, and many other mental health conditions. I am drawn working with adolescents and adults who are exploring identity development, need to clarify values, and offer guidance as they discover their path toward finding personal growth.

My Unique Contribution to the Meaningful ChangE Team

I have a particular passion for those struggling with addictions of any kind. I have personally witnessed how profoundly addiction to alcohol, drugs, and even food can impact relationships, lifestyles, and wellbeing. I have worked with many people struggling with various addictions and helped them reclaim their sobriety. I want to help people process why they have made the decisions they have made and how they are able to make changes in their lifestyles to live a life of their choosing that is aligned with their personal values.

Personally, and professionally, I enjoy helping clients make sense of their experiences while balancing their practical skill building with compassion and curiosity. I strive to leave each session with the client feeling supported, challenged, and increasingly confident in their ability to navigate whatever life brings.
