Medical Assistant/Receptionist
Job Description & Overview
This is a Medical Assistant and Receptionist/Administrative Assistant position at our growing mental health practice. This includes the routine work of medical assistants that may involve prescription management, EHR work, workflow and pre-authorization management, as well as the work of greeting, managing patient calls, and handling routine administrative tasks. This is a part-time position with the goal of rapidly expanding to full-time if/when the employee is able to take on greater responsibilities
A desire to become an integral part of the team as the practice continues to expand, and an interest in mental healthcare are desirable for our long-term goals.
Medical & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet, welcome patients, and routine customer support
Complete basic patient intake
Prescription management and follow-up calls
Management of pre-authorization
Collaborate closely with medical staff
Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner
Manage routine scheduling needs of patients and providers
Provide administrative support to the treatment team in a timely fashion
Maintain accurate records of protected health information
Prepare and edit documents/presentation, letters, and proofread reports
Schedule and setup routine online tests and surveys (training provided)
Manage and secure office supplies
Assist with special projects as assigned by the Practice Director
MANDATORY SKILLS
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Fluency in Google Suite and Email Interface
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to follow directions efficiently
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills
Positive and calming disposition in the face of what can be a stressful environment
Clear understanding for workplace hierarchy
Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA and managing patient privacy
Familiarity in Electronic Health Records
Familiarity or experience in healthcare settings
Ability to manage Facebook and Instagram would be added value to the practice

All new employees at the practice have a 4-12 week "probation period", for training and evaluation purposes. Compensation during this "probation period" is at a reduced rate.
Candidates will receive competitive hourly pay ranging from $16- $18, based on competence, skills, experience, and hours worked.
